kimono.

Not going to lie, my summer uniform is typically a tank and denim cutoff shorts- pretty much the standard for most, I'm sure. In order to stand out and put my signature touch to this look, I always like to add on some accessories or a pop of color anywhere I can.

I was recently gifted this beautiful kimono that is super lightweight (perfect for the chillier summer nights) and is literally a piece of art in color and design. The ruffled, wide bell sleeves adds a unique touch of sophistication to this look.

every time has its place.

This past weekend I went to my usual hot yoga class and my instructor mentioned she overheard a family at the beach running down a list of things they were going to do next rather than enjoying their vacation. This made me think how often I plan out my day on the regular. From setting calendar reminders and alarms to writing out a list of things to do and at what time of the day. Even when I spend time with my family and friends, rather than enjoying the moment, often times I'm thinking, what do I have to do next, what can I cross off my to-do list. Who else is guilty of doing this?!

Time is precious, we never know what is going to happen next or how long we have left with someone important in our life. So next time you're spending time with your family member or friend, or doing something for yourself (this includes treating yourself to ice cream), take the [time] to treasure the moment. Oh and if you haven't heard already, it's National Ice Cream Day so go take some time to treat yo self!

Shiny things.

Not going to lie, I have a thing for shiny things. I mean what girl doesn't?! This mosaic blinged out wall made out of mirrors and glasses called for a much needed #ootd. The cool part is that this Community Mosaic Wall at the American Visionary Art Museum was started as an apprentice program to benefit at-risk, under served youth and the greater community. Next time you're in the area, be sure to check it out!

Feminine & edgy.

If flowers did not wilt so quickly, I would buy myself some every time I go to the grocery store or farmer's market. I not only love the scent of flowers, but they put a smile on my face every time they bloom. Needless to say, you can imagine why I tend to gravitate towards floral prints during spring. Put a bit of an edgy twist to this flirty and feminine look with a leather jacket and choker.

Royal blue.

I am OBSESSED with kimonos during the warmer seasons. They're the perfect, lightweight jacket/robe when it gets cooler at night. I love the intricate floral patterns and bright blue color of this one from Boutique 44. It instantly adds a stylish flare to a simple black dress like the one I'm sporting from Tart Collections, also available at Boutique 44 . You can easily amp up your look by wearing this kimono with shorts and a plain T-shirt or even wear it over a plain jumpsuit- possibilities are endless!

byTSANG.

My dear blogger friend, Jenny Tsang of Tsangtastic launched her clothing line: byTsang, not too long ago and I could not be happier for her. I met Jenny at New York Fashion Week a couple of years ago and have kept in touch with her ever since. Her eye for style and creativity is something that makes her instantly stand out.

I love the concept of byTsang, rather than offering a plethora of items to shop for, Jenny introduces a piece at a time. You know what they say, less is more! I love this long, fuzzy cardigan. Not only is it warm and fuzzy, but it instantly gives off a luxe effect to any casual outfit. Check out the pictures below to see how I survived the cold weather in style.

Night out in Downtown Annapolis.

If you don't know this about me already, I am a huge foodie who is always willing to try new restaurants and food in the area. I heard about Level for awhile now so I had to make a trip downtown to try it out for myself. What originally drew my attention was that they locally source their ingredients. As an avid farmers market shopper myself, I am a  true supporter of local farms and businesses. I also really like how its a tapas restaurant so you can order a bunch of small plates and share. And what's even better is that they change up their menu every couple of weeks, so each experience can be a different one.

I am a go-to wine girl, but I recommend trying their cocktails. Each cocktail is used with fresh ingredients, so you're not getting anything out of a can and yes, you can taste the difference. I recommend the gimlet- the freshly squeeze lime juice, sugar cane and foam on top is on point.

For my meal, I got the chorizo dip that came with warm naan bread, brussels sprouts- perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, fried duck confit- tasted like fried chicken and a bit too salty for my liking, and the squid ink pasta on special- pasta noodles were perfectly chewy and the sauce is delish!

Word on the street is that they were voted top fries in Maryland, although I didn't get to try them, I definitely recommend you do and let me know how they are!

As always, outfit details below :). Happy weekend to all!

The Oculus at World Trade Center.

For whatever reason, whenever I am in NYC, I tend to dress edgier. Black clothes, a leather jacket, red lipstick, combat boots and choker necklaces become my uniform. This time around, I decided to upgrade my look with a bit of shine by putting on a metallic dress and pairing it with ankle boots with triple buckle detail.

I FINALLY had a chance to visit the new World Trade Center transportation hub: The Oculus! The view from both the outside and inside is literally breathtaking. The shape on the outside supposedly resembles a dove taking flight. Once you step inside, the sunlight beams throughout the hub and reflects off of the all white interior. Now I understand why this is the most expensive train station in the world. If you're visiting the city, I definitely recommend you stop by.

'90s throwback.

They say trends come and go so you shouldn't jump from one to the next, but I'm a firm believer that there are no rules in fashion- I'll forever be a '90s kid. I mean who doesn't still listen to throwback Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, No Doubt, J Lo., TLC, Mariah Carey, Eminem and the list goes on.

Of course, there are things I regret from the '90s like confidently wearing baby blue eye shadow like I was Cameron Diaz, rocking my fake sports team tanks and tees from Limited Too and of course, sporting my short short skorts...

This time, I'm doing it right. Here's my sporty, but feminine take on the '90s look.

Bold lips. ✔️
Bleached hair. ✔️
Crop top. ✔️
Denim jacket. ✔️
Choker. ✔️
Mesh. ✔️
Chucks. ✔️

I think I've covered all the basis. How will you embrace this trend?

Sunday brunch.

Here's my Parisian look for Sunday brunch, my absolute favorite meal of the week. Love catching up with family and friends right before the week ahead. And if you have a sweet tooth like me, it's the time to indulge! I absolutely LOVE cute cafes with fancy latte art and sweet, decadent eats. Cheers to a good week!
