gingham.

Move over polka dots, plaid, checker, houndstooth prints- there's a new trending print in town. Say hello... or welcome back to gingham. If you haven't seen this print worn by your trend friend, co-worker or neighbor, you don't have "trendy" friends... I kid, I kid.

The gingham trend was spotted on the runways of highly coveted designers' spring 2017 collection shows, and is seen in a lot of editorials, as of late for being the "it" pattern of the season. I personally, am a sucker for any cutouts and cool sleeve details, so here's my take on rockin' this season's hottest trend.

Feminine & edgy.

If flowers did not wilt so quickly, I would buy myself some every time I go to the grocery store or farmer's market. I not only love the scent of flowers, but they put a smile on my face every time they bloom. Needless to say, you can imagine why I tend to gravitate towards floral prints during spring. Put a bit of an edgy twist to this flirty and feminine look with a leather jacket and choker.

Royal blue.

I am OBSESSED with kimonos during the warmer seasons. They're the perfect, lightweight jacket/robe when it gets cooler at night. I love the intricate floral patterns and bright blue color of this one from Boutique 44. It instantly adds a stylish flare to a simple black dress like the one I'm sporting from Tart Collections, also available at Boutique 44 . You can easily amp up your look by wearing this kimono with shorts and a plain T-shirt or even wear it over a plain jumpsuit- possibilities are endless!

Spring bling.

Happy hump day, ya'll! Only two more days till the weekend...woooo sahhhhhh! You know what I'm looking forward to more than the weekend? Summer! It's been fairly warm here in the D.M.V., but not warm enough to take a dip in the pool.

Can I just take a moment to talk about my love for rompers?! Definitely a spring/summer staple, especially when you have nothing to wear or if you want a chic cover-up for the pool or beach. It's still a bit chilly here, so I dressed mine up with a fun and airy kimono cardigan. And it's not spring time without butterflies- found a perfect statement necklace to add just the right touch of bling.

I cannot wait till I can actually dive into the water, and lay out in the sun... with a margarita or two, of course! I'm in desperate need of a vacay, if you couldn't tell by now. Any recommendations for places to go?
