NYFW with Nanette Lepore.

Best way to end New York Fashion Week, SS16? With the Nanette Lepore presentation of course. This season, Nanette went with a creative approach by hosting a fun fashion party at her SoHo store on Broome St. Attendees got the full experience of how models get ready for shows from make-up, nails, hair, jewelry and all. After the prep session, attendees had a chance to witness the look book photo session.

There were 10 models who changed four times throughout the night, and actually interacted with attendees and photographers- very convenient for us bloggers. And with a dj, canned wine and fun vibes, the night turned into a dance party!

My favorite looks are below. What do you guys think of the new collection?!

I was in complete make-up envy. Absolutely love the popping eye liners by Stila showcased on all of the models.

Totally need this dress. Nanette Lepore X eddieeddiebybillytommy collab.

NYFW with Concept Korea.

As a Korean-American, one of my all-time favorite shows during New York Fashion Week always happens to be Concept Korea. As I've never been to the country, it's always nice to see and experience the culture of Korea during my favorite week of the season.

So if you don't know the story behind Concept Korea, each year four different designers are invited to showcase their work in New York City. The program is organized by the Ministry of Culture, sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, the Daegu Metropolitan City, the Korean Creative Contents Agency and Korean Research Institute for Fashion Industry.

As the two menswear designers already showcase their collection at the first ever menswear fashion week earlier this year, the two womenswear designers, Jarret and Kaal E. Suktae showcased their spring, summer 2016 collection on Monday, September 14, at Moynihan Station.

I had a chance to go backstage before the show to quickly meet with the designers to find out more about their collections. Each designer had a unique story to tell about their collections. Designer, Kaael E. Suktae's collection is inspired by the second chapter of the Book of Daniel, "A Dream of King," which explores the idea of human beings coming from nothing and going back to nothing. Kaal E. Suktae's collection featured basic colors of white and black, but each piece was either decked out with Western-style buckles or fun prints to minimally make a statement.

Jarret's collection told a fairy-tale like story, as it was inspired by Snow White's alter ego, the witch queen. The bold colors and intricate patterns definitely spoke for themselves.

Below are pictures from my backstage experience and of course, pictures of my favorite pieces. Can't wait till they hit stores!!!!

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2015

Back from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City! And yes, I survived the cold, although my finger didn't... You know you're addicted to your phone when you get frostbite from having your fingers out to answer emails/text/check social media. I know what you're thinking, why didn't I invest in those touchscreen gloves?! Well, I did and sadly they did not work. If anyone has any recommendations, please comment below! I MUST prepare myself for Toronto fashion week in the next few weeks.

Without further adieu, I present to you my week in pictures. Outfit detail posts coming soon.

Calm before the storm of fashionistas! Otherwise known as the day to pick-up credentials.
Can we talk about this hot, yellow Mercedes?! (insert: googly heart eyed emoji)
Had to show some love for the equally hot, silver ride too.
Obligatory #ootd photo taken inside the PANDORA booth. Thanks, iTouch Booth!
Um.. absolutely had to try on this blazer by George Kotsiopoulos. #TideChic

First show of the week: Concept Korea. I went to their show last season and fell in love with Beyond Closet's line! Love how designer, Taeyong Ko keeps clothes youthful with patchwork and bold patterns! My favorite look is definitely this all American inspired trench.

Always great to take a breather with a five minute walk to the Time Warner Center. This view of Central Park so ethereal. Take me back when it's warmer please!
Let's be real. The real reason I walked to Time Warner Center in the freezing cold is for Bouchon Bakery <3! Their sandwiches, latte's and baked good are to die for! May or may not have indulged in this raspberry, almond croissant.

Went backstage for Vivienne Tam's show, and got a sneak peek of the collection before it hit the runway.
My favorite look. Sophisticated with an edgy twist with the blazer/jacket.

Love the detail on this top. Vivienne's collection featured a lot of turtle neck details- perfect for fall/winter.

Can you tell I'm in love with this jacket?! The red color, and the black fur detail is to die for!!!
I always give so much respect to the models who run from show to show, and the hairstylists/make-up artists who can instantly change-up a look..

One of the many perks of being backstage is running into celebrities. Still cannot believe I met Ashley Benson... Huge fan of Pretty Little Liars right hurrrr. Can I just say, she is BEYOND gorgeous in person as she is on television!

I might have taken advantage of all the free perks in the sponsorship lounge. Who knew my hair had so much volume?! Thank you for the fun, up-do, Jennifer Brent of  Tresemme.

Had the opportunity to attend Korean designer, Lie Sangbong's show. Of course, my favorite look happened to be this red piece. Can you tell that orangeish/red is going to be BIG this fall?!

Fabulous work, Lie Sangbong!

And of course, the best part of NYFW is making new friends with people who share the same passion for fashion! Hi Richard!

Winter blues.

Winter Blues

Back in New York City for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Fall/Winter 2015. Happy to be back, but not feeling the cold, winter weather. It's all about layers to stay warm and comfortable shoes to avoid those high-heel blisters. To add a bit of a flare, a bold lipstick and pop of color is a MUST!

Hope everyone is staying warm this week. For live updates this week, follow my activities via Instagram/Twitter at: @itsMargarrrrita.

Happy fashion week to all!
